About ISM

Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) is a rigorous, year-long program offered by Frisco ISD to high-achieving students looking to learn about potential career options. Students choose a topic of interest at the beginning of the year and perform extensive research online and through interviews with real-life professionals working in the student's chosen field. The students' research is incorporated into independent projects designed to utilize high-level thinking skills and to benefit in some manner those who work in the student's chosen field. Students also find a mentor to guide them through this process.
